Job summary

Beyond Behavior Consulting is seeking a Behavior Technician to provide high-quality ABA services to children in home, school, and community settings under the supervision of a BCBA. This role involves implementing treatment plans, collecting data, teaching new skills, and promoting safety and positive learning.

Ideal candidates will be patient, reliable, and able to collaborate with families and school staff; RBT certification is preferred but training is provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED with 6–12 months of Behavior Technician experience or a related bachelor’s degree.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to use electronic timekeeping and data collection systems.
  • Must submit state and federal background clearances including PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal History, and FBI Fingerprint clearances.
  • Ability to obtain CPR Certification and Mandated Reporter Training Certificate of completion.
  • Physically able to participate in activities with clients, including sitting on the floor, kneeling, squatting, standing, bending, and crawling.

About the Position

Beyond Behavior Consulting is seeking a Behavior Technician to provide high-quality, individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children in home, school, and community settings. Ideal candidates will be experienced members of our clinical team who works one-on-one with our valued clients under the supervision and direction of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This position is responsible for implementing individualized treatment plans, collecting and documenting behavioral data, teaching new skills, reducing challenging behaviors, and creating a safe, positive, and supportive environment for clients.

The Behavior Technician II level is intended for individuals with additional experience and/or education in behavioral health, psychology, education, social work, or a related field.

What You'll Do
  • Provide individualized 1:1 ABA therapy in home, school, and/or community settings.
  • Implement individualized behavior intervention and treatment plans as directed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Collect accurate behavioral and skill-acquisition data during daily sessions.
  • Graph and maintain client data as required.
  • Use evidence-based ABA strategies, including positive reinforcement, prompting, shaping, chaining, differential reinforcement, and token economies.
  • Support clients in developing communication, social, adaptive, academic, and other functional skills.
  • Implement behavior-reduction strategies safely and appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed session notes using appropriate ABA terminology.
  • Maintain client program materials and VB program books.
  • Communicate professionally and regularly with BCBAs, caregivers, teachers, and other members of the client's care team.
  • Attend individual and group supervision meetings and complete required documentation.
  • Follow company policies, clinical protocols, and safety procedures with minimal prompting.
  • Respond appropriately to client crises and emergencies according to established protocols and training.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
  • Promote client safety and create a positive, engaging learning environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings and required trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsRequired:
  • High school diploma/GEDand at least 6 months to a 1 year of experience as a Behavior Technician OR a bachelor's degree in psychology, education, social work, behavioral health, or a related field.

Preferred:
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
  • Coursework or education in Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Experience working with children or adolescents.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder, emotional disturbance, intellectual disabilities, or other behavioral needs.
