Job summary

Oklahoma Department of Human Services in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is seeking a Programs Field Representative (PFR) for the behavior supports unit. The role provides technical assistance to frontline staff and teams, guiding practices and due process when restrictive protocols are necessary.

The position requires a master’s degree with 3 years of professional social services experience or an equivalent combination, and travel is occasional.

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree and three years of professional experience in social work, child support, adult protective services, child welfare, early childhood development and education, guidance and counseling, nursing, intellectual disability, probation and parole, public administration, community-based prevention and diversionary youth services programs, juvenile justice, rehabilitation counseling, vocational evaluation or vocational rehabilitation.
  • OR an equivalent combination and experience, substituting 1 additional year of qualifying experience for each year of the required education.
  • Professional experience in the fields listed must have been the primary job responsibility to be considered as qualifying. Incidental performance of professional work in any area(s) shall not be considered

Responsibilities

  • The PFR for the behavior supports unit provides technical assistance to frontline staff and individual teams to address supports for individuals with cooccurring intellectual disabilities and behavioral health needs.
  • The PFR regularly meets with individual teams to guide the team toward acceptable practices rather than prohibited procedures.
  • They also guide the team through due process when restrictive protocols are necessary.
  • The PFR applies policy (OAC 340:100-5-57 Protective Intervention Protocols, 340:100-5-58 Prohibited Procedures), monitors behavior support providers, conducts physical management consults to determine whether physical management is safe and appropriate, review DDS-42 submissions for temporary approval of restrictive procedures, etc

Education

Master’s degree + 3 years professional experience in social work or related field
