Job summary

Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities (DCBDD) seeks a dedicated professional to lead and coordinate high-quality behavior support for individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting safety, dignity, and positive outcomes within DCBDD's community.

This role requires expertise in developing assessments, implementing strategies, training DCBDD staff, and collaborating with Service and Support Administrators to write ISP plans.

Qualifications

• Valid license by Ohio Board of Psychology OR Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board OR bachelor’s/graduate degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of three (3) years paid, full-time experience in developing and/or implementing behavioral support or risk reduction strategies.
• Must obtain and maintain DODD Service and Support Administration Certification.
• Must possess a valid State of Ohio Driver's License and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Serves as entry point for all behavior support referrals.
• Coordinates and tracks all behavioral assessments.
• Communicates regularly with individuals served and teams in the community; adheres to guidance to create, implement, and maintain restrictive strategies as needed.
• Provides guidance on positive behavior support practices, collects data, and measures effectiveness of interventions; conducts on-site observations and develops interventions to support individuals with challenging behaviors.
• Ensures restrictions are temporary and align with least restrictive principles; tracks reductions and eliminations of restrictions over time.
• Develops, implements, and monitors all facets of behavior support for individuals served; writes strategies into ISPs with SSA; ensures plans are compliant.
• Provides regular training on behavior strategies and restrictive measures; develops training materials.
• Supports SSAs and teams with technical assistance on behavior strategies.
• Attends meetings and trainings; adheres to policies.
