Job summary

Arrow provides family oriented, in-home and community-based rehabilitative mental health services to youth and families, with a focus on trauma-informed care and individualized treatment plans.

The role involves regular home visits, documentation to meet payor standards, and crisis intervention support 24/7. A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred for some Texas programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred for some programs.
  • 1 year of experience with youth in a mental health setting preferred; High school diploma or GED with 5 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regularly scheduled client visits in the home and community.
  • Provide trauma informed services to all clients and families.
  • Provide support services in accordance with the client’s Individualized Treatment Plan.
  • Provide services in accordance with program specified curriculums.
  • Document the provision of all services in Arrow’s electronic client record and in accordance with Arrow and payor standards.
  • Document services provided with the understanding that all clinical notations are considered legal documents and can be used in a court of law.
  • Participate in ongoing trainings and supervisions.
  • Provide crisis intervention to family 24/7 as needed.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation with other team members as indicated by program.
  • Maintain a manageable caseload to ensure outcomes and practice requirements are met while taking into consideration the level of care of clients served.
  • Completes and maintains CANS certification.
  • May be required to drive ACFM vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete Arrow’s vehicle training.
  • Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, Arrow policy, and COA standards.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, mental health or another related human services field
Master’s Degree preferred

Overview

The primary responsibility of the Behavior Support Specialist is to provide family oriented, individual and/or group rehabilitative mental health services, skills training and development, medication training, parenting skills training, and intensive case management and support services to clients of the agency per state specified standards and requirements. The Behavior Support Specialist is responsible for the direct provision of in-home and community-based rehabilitation and support services to participating youth and families. These services are typically provided to consumers in their homes, communities and/or program sites.

Qualifications

Requirements vary by program and state.

  • Treatment Foster Care (Texas) - Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, mental health or another related human services field and at least one (1) year of previous experience working with youth in a mental health setting preferred. High school diploma or GED with at least five (5) years of previous experience working with youth in a mental health setting may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Community-Based Services (Texas) – Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, mental health or another related human services field and at least one (1) year of previous experience working with youth in a mental health setting. Master’s Degree preferred.
