Job summary

Albertina Kerr in Oregon is seeking a Behavior Specialist to support individuals with complex behavioral needs using Positive Behavior Support Plans. You will collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams to implement PBSPs and monitor data, ensuring safety and dignity.

Responsibilities include staff training on PBSPs, emotional regulation, and social skills, plus maintaining compliance with standards and participating in ongoing program reviews.

Qualifications

  • BCBA certification and 1+ year PBS experience with individuals who have I/DD.
  • Master's degree plus 1+ year PBS experience for I/DD.
  • Bachelor's degree plus 3+ years PBS experience for I/DD.
  • No degree pathway: 6+ years PBS experience with references for FBA/PBSPs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive functional behavioral assessments to identify causes and functions of challenging behaviors.
  • Develop, implement, monitor PBSPs and related data-tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with individuals, families, program staff, managers, and ISP team members.
  • Provide training and coaching to staff on PBSPs, behavioral strategies, and OIS principles.
  • Deliver direct skill-building support focusing on emotional regulation, social skills, conflict resolution, and independence.
  • Consult with program leadership on behavioral concerns and recommended environmental or systemic modifications.
  • Monitor compliance with behavior-related requirements and state Psychiatric Review Board standards.
  • Attend program staff meetings and support ongoing review of interventions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
