Job summary

La Frontera EMPACT - Suicide Prevention Center in Tempe/Glendale is hiring a Teen Resiliency Program (TRP) Behavior Management Specialist. The role focuses on direct support with adolescents and families, emphasizing behavior management across homes, schools, and community settings.

The position requires a high school diploma, possible BHT level, and experience with at-risk youth. Fortunate candidates will participate in groups and community events while maintaining deadlines and documentation.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • BHT level as stipulated by AZDHS/BHS is preferred.
  • Experience working with at-risk adolescents preferred.
  • Minimum of one year prior experience in an applicable or relevant setting.
  • Knowledge of Behavior Management Techniques.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and groups with community members, families and teens.
  • Experience with children in DCS care and RBHA system knowledge preferred.
  • Experience assisting teens with independent living skills and transition to adulthood preferred.
  • Must work with multiple systems and families in crisis.
  • Teen Substance Abuse experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent time management skills; meet deadlines and timely documentation.
  • Fingerprint clearance card or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Valid AZ driver's license with no major infractions in 3 years.
  • Regular access to reliable transportation.
  • Must be 21 years or older at time of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support with behavior management to adolescents and families in homes, schools and community.
  • Facilitate groups assisting adolescents toward independent living and healthy community activities.
  • Work with Teen Resiliency Program (TRP) in TEMPE or GLENDALE locations.
  • Attend community events as needed.
  • Collaborate with teams serving families within the Child and Family Team process.

What You’ll Do

EMPACT-SPC is on the cutting edge in providing unconditional service to children and families. We offer many opportunities for professional development and growth. Our Children’s Services Department is constantly developing and enhancing programs to meet the needs of families in the community. We currently have Multiple Openings for Teen Resiliency Program (TRP) Behavior Management Specialist at our TEMPE OR GLENDALE location. This position focuses on providing direct support with a strong emphasis on behavior management to adolescents and families in their homes, schools and/or in the community. This is a great opportunity for someone who is a self-starter; can work well within a team and is able to work a flexible schedule. It will facilitate groups assisting adolescents to work toward independent living, as well as healthy activities in the community. Must have knowledge and experience in the area of behavior management and parent partnering/education; working in collaboration with teams serving families within the Child and Family Team process consistent with the Arizona Vision/12 principles. Must be able to adhere to deadlines, medical records compliance and performance requirements. Some evening hours required.

Are you comfortable transporting up to 7 youth at a time? Are you willing to transport youth to and from events? Are you willing to work with teenagers in the community and attend community events?
What You’ll Provide

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills is required.
  • Must have excellent time management skills; be able to meet deadlines and timely documentation.

  • Must have Fingerprint clearance card or be eligible to obtain one.
  • Must have a valid AZ driver's license with no major infractions in the past three years.
  • Must have regular access to reliable transportation.
