Job summary

The Emily Program is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist onsite in Ohio to support recovery for clients with eating disorders. You will facilitate therapy skills groups and meal support, helping clients apply coping skills in daily life across the day.

Responsibilities include documenting care, participating in clinical teams, and promoting a supportive, trauma-sensitive milieu. A bachelor’s in a health field is preferred; relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a mental, behavioral, counseling, or health-related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of direct patient care in mental/behavioral health.
  • Associate’s degree accepted with equivalent experience in mental/behavioral health.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate therapy groups including skills groups (CBT/DBT), self-monitoring, and experiential activities.
  • Provide therapeutic meal support at meals and snacks.
  • Help clients acquire skills to manage their eating disorder and maintain a recovery-oriented environment.
  • Participate in treatment team, mini team, therapy team, and case meetings.
  • Complete clinical documentation in compliance with policies and standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The Behavioral Health Specialist supports the milieu by facilitating therapeutic skills and activity groups, providing therapeutic meal support at mealtimes and snacks, assisting clients in acquiring skills to manage their eating disorder, maintaining a recovery-oriented environment, and providing general support and assistance.

Schedule

  • Full Time - Onsite, 0.8 FTE (32hrs/wk)

How Behavioral Health Specialists Empower Recovery

  • Facilitates therapy groups including skills groups (including CBT and DBT), self-monitoring groups, and experiential activity groups which may include art activities, music, journaling, mindfulness, relaxation, and movement.
  • Participates in therapeutic supported meals and snacks.
  • Contributes to the creation and maintenance of a recovery-oriented therapeutic environment.
  • Participates in treatment team, mini team, therapy team, and/or case consultation meetings.
  • Completes clinical documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Compensation Disclosure:

  • BHT I: Starting hourly range between $20.00-22.00

Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position

Qualifications

General Education Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a mental, behavioral, counseling, or behavioral sciences health-related field is strongly preferred.

OR

  • An associate’s degree may be considered if combined with equivalent experience in the mental or behavioral health field.
  • Regardless of degree, a minimum of 1 years of direct patient care experience in a mental/behavioral health setting is required.

Other Qualifications:

  • Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites must have a valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive.
  • Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites are required to have a current Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites are required to have a current First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Exhibits passion for our clients, values, and organization.
  • Demonstrates excellent clinical customer service using therapeutic communication skills to build strong client relationships and improve outcomes.
  • Participates in providing clinically competent care by self/staff/team through education, role modeling, teambuilding, clinical documentation, and quality monitoring.
  • Uses leadership, team building, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to build partnerships within and across system.
  • Engages in self-evaluation process, seeking feedback regarding own practice, from clients, peers, professional colleagues, and others.
