Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Aide to support students with intensive behavioral needs in special and alternative education settings.

You will work one-on-one to help meet IEP goals, applying customized behavior support and teaching life skills as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be trained in SESI's CASE PBIS framework, participate in data-driven progress tracking, and collaborate with parents to support student growth and safety in a caring

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or equivalent.
• Experience implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive needs preferred.
• Ability to work one-on-one with students according to IEP goals.

Responsibilities

• Support assigned student one-on-one per IEP goals.
• Provide accommodations and modifications as needed.
• Assist in development/modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior plans and track data on progress and incidents.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and safe crisis management when necessary.
• Foster inclusive, supportive learning environments.
• Monitor students during transit to/from locations and during transitions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent plan implementation.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents.

Responsibilities

What you can expect to do

Fuel student success-and your own-as you support your assigned student as determined by their individualized education plan (IEP). Realize the joy of possibility as you provide customized behavior support and teach valuable life skills. You will play an essential role as part of a multidisciplinary team in delivering holistic guidance and support.

• Work in a setting with diverse students from varying developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Work one on one with an assigned student to meet goals set forth in their IEP, providing accommodations and modifications as necessary.
• Assist in the development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans; record and track data on behaviors, progress toward goals, and incidents.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary to maintain the safety of students and staff.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages the development of appropriate social and behavioral skills.
• Supervise students and ensure they are always monitored, including to and from appropriate school locations.
• Work in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent implementation of behavior support plans.
• Provide personal care support dependent on the student’s needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents.

Posted Salary Range
