YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne seeks a part-time Before School Site Assistant for Glenwood Park Elementary in Fort Wayne, IN. You will support the YMCA Child Care Services, Monday through Friday, 6:15am–8:30am, for the 2026-2027 school year, helping create a fun, safe, and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities include engaging with children, assisting in lessons, and leading safe activities. The role requires you to be 18+, with reliable transport and the ability to relate to diverse groups.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and attending school.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Experience supervising multiple children is preferred.
• Ability to handle situations quickly, kindly, and fairly.
• Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people.

Responsibilities

• Provide childcare support Monday through Friday for the Before and After School YMCA Program.

Responsibilities

The Child Care Services Branch of the YMCA seeks enthusiastic and attentive part-time childcare workers to provide childcare support, Monday through Friday, for the Before and After School YMCA Program. Childcare Site Assistants help provide diverse participants with educational and age-appropriate activities to promote a safe, fun, nurturing learning environment and memorable experiences with the YMCA.

• Connect: Have a warm, engaging, and friendly demeanor that is able to connect quickly with program participants, parents, and supervisors.
• Nurture: Actively engage with and provide quality care for program participants in order to deliver a quality childcare experience.
• Lead: Assist in the implementation of lessons and actively lead safe activities to engage participants in planned activities.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

• Must be at least 18 years of age and attending school.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Experience in the supervision of multiple children is preferred.
• Ability to handle situations quickly, kindly, and fairly.

Salary: Part-time $14.00-$14.50 hourly

Hours Available: Monday-Friday, 6:15am-8:30am for the 2026-2027 school year

Location: Glenwood Park Elementary, 4501 Vance Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46815
