Job summary

Cherry Creek School District is seeking a Before and After School Leader to assist the program director in planning and implementing the district’s child care program. The role emphasizes safety, positive supervision of students, and engagement with families and staff.

You will help develop quality programming, support staff, and ensure compliance with licensing requirements while promoting enrichment activities and community relations within the school community.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least three months (455 hours) of verified experience in care and supervision of four or more children age four or older.
• Current early childhood professional credential level I or higher in version 3.0 as determined by the Department.
• Annual 15 clock hours of training from June 1 to May 31.
• Knowledge of childcare basics and safety.
• Ability to develop disciplinary procedures and leadership skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Assist the program director to plan and implement the child care program. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. Assists director and/or assistant director to prepare and implement quality programming.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works directly and actively supervises and engages with students during times they are present in the program. (Daily 15%)

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• The Before and After School Leader must be age 18 or over
• A Leader must demonstrate ability to work with children, and must have completed at least one (1) of the following qualifications:
  • Must have at least three (3) months (455 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children over the ages of four (4) who are not related to the individual;
  • A current early childhood professional credential level I one (1) or higher in version 3.0 as determined by the Department based on its Early Childhood Professional Credential 3.0 Worksheet
• Each year, June 1 through May 31, the leader must complete at least 15 clock hours of training
• Knowledge of most aspects of childcare
• Ability to develop and utilize appropriate discipline procedures
• Some leadership and management skill
• Ability to make appropriate decisions and to solve problems effectively
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
