The School District of Lee County is seeking an Before and After Care Program Instructor in Fort Myers, Florida. This role requires supervising students, organizing activities, and ensuring safety before and after regular school hours.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Any combination of relevant education, experience or certifications may be considered.
  • Valid Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

  • Implement structured activities including academic support, arts and crafts, games, and physical play.
  • Supervise students before and/or after school hours in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Promote positive behavior and social development; ensure respectful interactions.
  • Set up and clean up program areas and materials daily.
  • Report accidents immediately to the Program Director.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
  • Valid Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current employee of the School District of Lee County.
  • Valid Florida teaching certificate.
  • Experience working with children in a group or educational setting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of and experience with organizing student activities and events.
  • Knowledge of general policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
  • Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with program staff and school personnel.
  • Ability to relate to and inspire confidence in students.
  • Ability to administer First Aid/CPR/AED as needed for illness, injury, or life‑threatening emergencies per certification training guidelines.
