Two Rivers YMCA is seeking an Extension Assistant to support year‑round school‑age programs at various Quad City sites in Moline, East Moline and Rock Island. You will help implement lesson plans, supervise participants, and maintain safety and program quality during before and after school hours.
The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with one year of youth experience preferred, and CPR/AED/other trainings.
Our staff provide a nurturing environment and emphasize the development of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility to children K‑6th throughout the Illinois Quad City Schools. Hours are Monday‑Friday 6:30‑8:00 am and 2:30‑5:30 pm at various school sites in Moline, East Moline and Rock Island.
Under the direct supervision of the Site Leader and/or Extension Coordinator, this position assists with the day‑to‑day operations of year‑round school‑age care programs. During the school year the assistant serves as a Site Assistant at our Before & After School programs and as a Camp Counselor during the summer, embodying the Y’s philosophy and commitment to character development.
A successful Extension Assistant will run a well‑administered program that positively influences children in the areas of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Parents and the community will view the program as a safe, nurturing environment, and all facilities, activities and events will be supervised and staffed to maintain high quality programming.
Responsible for supervising all Extension program participants.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One year working with youth is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of parents, students, administrators and staff.
CPR/AED for infant, child and adult, Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse Prevention, other required trainings, and completion of a Medical Exam and TB Test.
Strong human relations skills required.
Regular use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Frequently stand and walk, occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs, may frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
The work environment may involve outside weather conditions and moderate to loud noise levels. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
