Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Cape May City Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt role follows the school calendar, with morning and/or afternoon shifts.

The position emphasizes engaging activities, safety, and positive role modeling for children ages 5–12. Candidates should be reliable, with a High School Diploma or childcare experience preferred, and must pass state background

Qualifications

• Requires pass state background checks.
• Must be able to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
• High School Diploma and/or 1 year childcare experience preferred but not required.
• Positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills with children, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, arts, homework).
• Provide a safe, healthy, and engaging environment and serve as a positive role model.
• Observe state guidelines, program policies, and host school rules.
• Support program operations, including attendance records, registration, and staffing.
