Job summary

Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) seeks a Before & After Care Worker to support a safe and welcoming atmosphere in the cafeteria, playground, and other designated areas. You will supervise students, assist with homework, and help with snack distribution, following CSUSA procedures.

The role requires interaction with children and parents, maintaining professionalism and safety. Prior daycare or camp experience is preferred, with a commitment to CSUSA values and school policies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as daycare assistant or summer camp counselor, preferred.
• Must like children.

Responsibilities

• Reflect a professional manner and provide excellent customer service in a public setting.

• Monitor students and observe who enters and leaves childcare areas.
• Assist students with homework and pass out snacks.
• Play with students on the playground and tutor as needed.
• Resolve conflicts with children and parents.

As a Before & After Care Worker, you will be responsible for assisting in maintenance of an orderly, safe and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria, on the playground and in other designated locations by helping and supervising students during authorized before or after school programs in accordance with CSUSA policy and established school procedures.

Responsibilities

• This position is one that is in the public eye and program assistants must always reflect a professional manner as well as provide excellent customer service.
• Candidates must be able to resolve conflicts with children and parents, possess the ability to be firm but friendly, and must be able to be courteous and professional when dealing with parents, children and other co-workers. Program assistant reports to the Director of the Before and After Care Program and to the school principal.
  • Follows proper student sign-in and dismissal procedures for Before Care.
  • Follows proper student check-in and dismissal procedures for After Care.
  • Monitors students.
  • Observes who enters and leaves childcare area.
  • Assists students with homework.
  • Passes out snacks.
  • Plays with students on playground.
  • Tutors and assists students with homework.
  • Resolves conflicts with children and parents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or higher education credential.
