Job summary

JBS USA, located in Grand Island, Nebraska, seeks Beef Modernization Sorters to perform precise knife cuts and make decisions tied to pathology, presentation, and sanitary dressing quality. Strong observational abilities and commitment to Food Safety are essential.

You will work in a high-paced, team-based setting, train others, and collaborate with harvest-floor departments, including USDA-FSIS inspectors, to ensure product safety and quality compliance.

Qualifications

• Harvest floor knife experience required.
• Ability to sharpen a knife and maintain sharpness.
• Willingness to learn anatomy, physiology and pathological disease processes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be detail oriented and disciplined.
• Interested in work that challenges you mentally.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull product repetitively.
• Work effectively in a TEAM atmosphere.
• All other duties as assigned.

A Beef Modernization Sorter must have strong observational abilities while performing precision knife cuts so they may make correct decisions related to pathology, presentation or possible sanitary dressing deficiencies. Beef Modernization Sorters work in a high-paced environment and must understand Food Safety and Quality are their primary responsibility. Beef Modernization Sorters undergo intensive and recurring training and must be willing to train/educate others.
