Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking an experienced Beef Cattle Herd Manager for a family-run operation in Indiana. The role involves day-to-day care, feeding, water management, and herd health oversight in a 3,000+ acre farming setting with purebred Angus cattle and private treaty sales.

Responsibilities include calving season support, AI-related tasks, fence maintenance, hay production, and customer inquiries after cattle sales. Competitive salary with on-site housing and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in a show, registered, or production beef cattle operation.
• Solid cattle-handling, herd-health, feeding and calving skills.
• Experience with breeding-season activities; AI a plus.
• Able to build/repair fencing and operate farm equipment.
• Self-motivated, independent, dependable and attentive to cattle health.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day care and feeding of the cattle herd.
• Monitor herd health, assist calving, and vaccinate calves as needed.
• Make diet and pasture rotation decisions; prepare feed rations.
• Participate in AI selection, synchronization, and heat detection.
• Maintain herd records and assist with sales preparations.
