Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking a Beauty Stylist to drive beauty sales across all brands by maximizing demonstration and artistry techniques. The role focuses on selling products that fit the customer’s needs, in a commission-based setting, delivering one-on-one customer service.

The position involves in-store and digital selling, trend knowledge, and building lasting customer relationships while collaborating with brand vendors. Scheduling varies by week to meet business needs.

A day in the life…

• Set and achieve sales goals, for both in-store and digital selling with effective use of selling tools (inclusive of text and social media)
• Seek industry trends and product knowledge to maintain expertise
• Initiate service consultations by asking open-ended questions to learn the customer’s preferences and needs
• Build lasting relationships with customers by following up on purchases, suggesting new products and inviting them to upcoming events
• Grow sales by focusing on appointment-based selling, utilizing technology and opening new Nordstrom Rewards accounts
• Be an entrepreneur, create events in the store, and network in the community
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships within each Beauty brand to identify key focuses and products

• Physical Requirements:
  • Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, which includes frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching in order to handle merchandise and assist customers.
  • Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, which includes reaching for and lifting these items above the head.
  • Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
