Job summary

Nordstrom Inc. is seeking a Beauty Stylist who drives beauty sales across all brands through demonstrations and artistry.

You will focus on recommending the best products for each customer, thriving in a commissioned environment and delivering top-tier one-on-one service to beauty clients. You will set and achieve goals for in-store and digital selling, stay informed on industry trends, and build lasting relationships with customers.

The ideal Beauty Stylist drives beauty sales across all brands by maximizing demonstration and artistry techniques. The primary focus is to sell the customer what is right for them. They are passionate about the product, thrive in a commissioned sales environment and committed to providing the best one‑on‑one customer service to their beauty clients.

A day in the life…

Set and achieve sales goals, for both in‑store and digital selling with effective use of selling tools (inclusive of text and social media) Seek industry trends and product knowledge to maintain expertise Initiate service consultations by asking open‑ended questions to learn the customer’s preferences and needs Build lasting relationships with customers by following up on purchases, suggesting new products and inviting them to upcoming events Grow sales by focusing on appointment‑based selling, utilizing technology and opening new Nordstrom Rewards accounts Be an entrepreneur, create events in the store, and network in the community Build and maintain strong vendor relationships within each Beauty brand to identify key focuses and products

Physical Requirements:

Continuous movement for 6‑8 hours per shift, which includes frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching in order to handle merchandise and assist customers. Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, which includes reaching for and lifting these items above the head. Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds

Pay Range Details

$26.05 - $27.10 Hourly At Nordstrom, the commission most selling employees receive varies based on the merchandise they sell. Apparel, shoes, and accessories sales typically range from 3% to 14.5%. The commission Beauty and Men’s Fragrance sales roles typically receive is 3%.
