Nordstrom Inc. in Bellevue, WA is seeking an enthusiastic Beauty Associate to engage customers, perform makeup applications, and maximize sales across luxury beauty brands. You’ll build a client following in-store and via digital channels, while delivering personalized beauty experiences and maintaining a welcoming environment.

You’ll stay current on trends, participate in trainings, and support sales goals with effective use of selling tools and Nordstrom Rewards programs.

In the Nordstrom Beauty Department, we strive to make our customers feel their best. As a member of the Nordstrom Beauty community, you'll create personalized beauty experiences for customers and be part of a passionate team that values your unique skills. The role involves engaging customers to understand their needs and maximizing sales in on-trend & luxury beauty brands. Ideal candidates are passionate about beauty trends, makeup, and skincare, with the ability to build a customer following both in-store and digitally.

A day in the life

• Conduct makeup applications, skincare analyses and recommend products based on customer's beauty goals
• Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers
• Set and achieve sales goals, for both in-store and digital selling with effective use of selling tools (inclusive of text and social media)
• Book appointments and drive sales for in-store Beauty events and services
• Keep department customer-ready through organization and cleanliness
• Keep up with the latest beauty trends, products, and industry knowledge through trainings provided by Nordstrom and brand partners
• Manage sales, refunds, exchanges, and build customer loyalty by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts

Physical Requirements

Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, which includes frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching in order to handle merchandise and assist customers. Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling. Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, which includes reaching for and lifting these items above the head. Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Pay range: $24.05 - $25.05 Hourly.

At Nordstrom, the commission most selling employees receive varies based on the merchandise they sell. Apparel, shoes, and accessories sales typically range from 3% to 14.5%. The commission Beauty and Men's Fragrance sales roles typically receive is 3%.
