Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Virginia seeks a Contract Beautician to provide haircuts, styling, coloring, and basic nail care for residents in our on-site salon, delivering confidence, care, and connection with every visit.

As an independent contractor, you’ll set appointments, manage payments with residents, and partner with community staff to keep the salon clean, welcoming and compliant with state standards. Must hold a Virginia cosmetology license and carry liability insurance.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current cosmetology license in Virginia.
• Must carry liability insurance of at least $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate and provide a Certificate of Insurance annually.
• 90/10 fee structure; 90% of revenue generated goes to Beautician; 10% to Commonwealth Senior Living.
• Must adhere to all state board and regulatory requirements for cosmetology and salon operations.
• Beauticians are responsible for their own licensing, insurance, and business operations.

About the Opportunity

At Commonwealth Senior Living, we’re seeking a Contract Beauticianto provide salon services to residents in our vibrant senior living community. This role plays an important part in helping residents look and feel their best bringing confidence, care, and connection to every visit.

Our Beauticians are independent contractors who partner with Commonwealth Senior Living to offer on-site salon services. This position is ideal for an experienced professional who enjoys working with seniors and values flexibility and meaningful engagement.

Additional Information

• This is a contracted position, not a Commonwealth Senior Living employee role.
• Beauticians are responsible for their own licensing, insurance, and business operations.
• In rare cases where a community-employed beautician is necessary, the role is part-time only(typically under 30 hours per week). Employed beauticians maintain their cosmetology license while CSL maintains the salon license.
