Qualifications

• Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB design tools preferred.
• Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters is a plus.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and evaluation of analog and digital circuits.
• Support PCB schematic capture and layout reviews; select components.
• Build, test, and troubleshoot hardware prototypes and samples.
• Perform lab testing, data collection, and analysis.

Position Summary

The Electronics Hardware Engineering Intern will support the design, development, testing, and documentation of electronic hardware used in medical, industrial, or commercial products. Working closely with experienced electrical and hardware engineers, the intern will gain hand-on experience in schematic design, PCB development, system integration, prototype testing, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and evaluation of analog and digital electronic circuits.
• Support PCB schematic capture, layout reviews, and component selection.
• Build, test, and troubleshoot hardware prototypes and engineering samples.
• Perform laboratory testing, data collection, and analysis.
• Assist with creating engineering documentation, test reports, BOMs, and design specifications.
• Support hardware verification, validation, and regulatory testing activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality engineering.
• Participate in design reviews and technical problem-solving activities.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of electronics fundamentals, including analog and digital circuits.
• Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad, or similar is preferred.
• Experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and power supplies is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

• Microcontrollers and embedded systems.
• Circuit simulation tools (LTspice, PSpice, etc.).
• Python, MATLAB, or other engineering software tools.
• Exposure to EMC/EMI testing, product development, or medical device design is beneficial.

This internship provides an opportunity to gain real-world experience throughout the hardware development lifecycle while contributing to innovative product development projects.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$23.50/hr to $52.50/hr

Additional Description for Pay Transparency: The expected pay range for this position is between $23.50 per hour and $52.50 per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. Co-Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension).
