Job summary

SKF Group in Sumter, SC seeks an inspector/assembler to read engineering drawings and perform precision inspection and assembly of finished and semi-finished products in accordance with specifications.

You will use micrometers, CMM, and other tools, recording data and ensuring quality. A high school diploma or GED is required; manufacturing experience is a plus. SKF offers comprehensive benefits and a culture of belonging.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior manufacturing or assembly experience preferred but not required.
• Solid understanding of shop math and precision measuring tools.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Read engineering drawings and specifications and follow standard notes.
• Perform inspection checks using micrometers, CMM, and other instruments and make acceptance decisions based on tolerances.
• Conduct visual inspections for surface finish, burrs, and other defects.
• Move parts and equipment as needed for inspection/assembly operations.
• Maintain required quality and productivity levels and document records accurately.
• Support training of new employees and communicate with supervisors to improve processes.
