Job summary

Atlas Search seeks an experienced Fund Accounting professional with direct BDC experience to join a growing private credit platform. The role offers full remote work nationwide in the United States and ownership of accounting and reporting for a portfolio of BDCs and private credit vehicles.

You will oversee NAV review, quarterly and annual financial reporting, and regulatory filings (40 Act funds, SEC reporting).

Qualifications

• The candidate has 6+ years in fund accounting with direct BDC exposure.
• Strong understanding of NAV and financial reporting requirements for BDCs.
• Experience with 40 Act funds, BDC regulatory reporting, US GAAP investment company accounting, valuations and SEC reporting.

Responsibilities

• NAV review and oversight across a portfolio of BDCs and private credit vehicles.
• Preparation of quarterly and annual financial reporting and regulatory filings (e.g., 10-Q/10-K as applicable).
• Oversee fund administrators and external auditors; manage covenant reporting and borrowing facilities.
• Develop and mentor junior fund accounting professionals and scale accounting processes.

Job description

I’m working on a strong opportunity for an experienced Fund Accounting professional with direct Business Development Company (BDC) experience to join a growing private credit platform.

This role can be fully remote anywhere in the U.S., with the opportunity to take ownership of the accounting and reporting for a portfolio of BDCs and private credit vehicles supporting a leading alternative investment manager.

The position will have broad responsibility across the full fund accounting lifecycle, including:

• NAV review and oversight
• Quarterly and annual financial reporting
• 10-Q, 10-K and other regulatory filings
• Private credit investments including senior secured loans, unitranche and mezzanine debt
• Oversight of fund administrators and external auditors
• Credit facilities, borrowing bases and covenant reporting
• Managing and developing junior fund accounting professionals
• Improving accounting processes, controls and scalability

Who we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of fund accounting experience with meaningful hands-on BDC exposure. We are specifically looking for candidates who understand the accounting, NAV and financial reporting requirements of a BDC and have worked with private credit investments.

Experience with ’40 Act funds, BDC regulatory reporting, US GAAP investment company accounting, valuations and SEC reporting is highly relevant.
