Job summary

Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee is seeking a full-time board certified/board eligible Neurohospitalist for an inpatient-only position. The role covers inpatient stroke and general neurology, including ICU consults, the medical floor, ER, and EEGs.

Ballad Health offers a 7-on/7-off schedule with 24-hour coverage, employed status, Epic EMR, NP support, relocation assistance, and a signing incentive.

Qualifications

• BC/BE in Neurology required or board eligible.
• Inpatient neurology experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret EEGs and contribute to stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient stroke and general neurology care.
• Perform ICU and floor consultations for neurology patients.
• Cover emergency department and general medical floor as needed.
• Read routine and prolonged EEGs and coordinate with Neuro ICU.

Holston Valley Medical Center (HVMC), a member of Ballad Health, is seeking a full-time board certified/board eligible Neurohospitalist for an exciting inpatient-only opportunity. HVMC, a 505-bed Level 3 trauma center located in Kingsport, Tennessee, has more than 450 BC/BE physicians on staff and is recognized by the American Heart Association, the American Stroke Association and the Joint Commission as a primary stroke center. Ballad Health, a 21-hospital health system, covers a 29-county area and is made up of three tertiary facilities, 18 community/critical access hospitals, seven cancer centers, 18 Urgent Care locations and multiple specialty offices through its employed arm, Ballad Health Medical Associates, made up of over 800 physicians and advanced practitioners.

What we're offering

• 7 days on / 7 off schedule - 24-hour coverage, 12-hour day coverage /12-hour telephonic coverage
• Employed position
• Average patient volume: 12-15 patients (including consults)
• Epic EMR - health system-wide
• Physician extender (NP) support
• This position covers inpatient stroke and general neurology, including consults in the intensive care unit, general medical floor, and the emergency room and reading routine and prolonged EEGs.
