Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a BAW Filter Design Engineer (Starlink/Akoustis) to drive design from concept to production. You will develop MEMS‑based BAW filters, simulate performance, and integrate with RF modules for space and terrestrial applications.

The role requires EM simulations (HFSS/CST/ADS/COMSOL), RF testing with spectrum analyzers and VNAs, and collaboration with process engineers to meet size, weight, and cost targets. A bachelor’s in EE and 1+ years in RF/antenna work are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 1+ years of RF/antenna/communication systems experience.
• Experience with EM simulation tools (HFSS/CST/ADS/COMSOL).
• Experience with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, VNAs, generators, network analyzers).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop BAW filters from concept to production, including specs, simulation, testing, architecture design, and optimization.
• Perform advanced EM simulations to model BAW filter performance and manufacturability.
• Design RF modules integrating BAW filters with connectors, amplifiers, switches, and antennas.
• Optimize filter performance for insertion loss, return loss, bandwidth, and out-of-band rejection while meeting size and cost constraints.
• Collaborate with process engineers, layout designers, and system architects for seamless integration.
• Develop test plans, perform RF measurements, and validate performance using network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
• Create detailed design reports and documentation for reviews and production handoff.
• Stay updated on BAW technology trends and contribute to next-generation RF solutions.
