Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a BAW Filter Design Engineer to design, simulate, and produce high-performance BAW filters for Starlink/AKOUSTIS applications. The role focuses on RF filter development from concept through production, with emphasis on EM simulations and integration with RF modules.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in EE and 1+ years in RF/antenna work, plus hands-on experience with HFSS, CST, ADS, or COMSOL and RF test equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 1+ year of experience with RF, antenna, or communication systems.
• Experience in EM simulation tools (HFSS, CST, ADS, or COMSOL).
• Experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum and network analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop BAW filters from concept to production, including specification definition, simulation, characterization, testing, architecture design, and performance optimization.
• Perform advanced EM simulations to model BAW filter performance and optimize designs for manufacturability.
• Design RF modules integrating BAW filters, including layout, packaging, and integration with other RF components.
• Optimize filter performance for insertion loss, return loss, bandwidth, and out-of-band rejection within size and cost constraints.
• Collaborate with process engineers, layout designers, and system architects for seamless integration into RF systems.
• Develop test plans, perform RF measurements, and validate filter performance with network/spectrum analyzers.
• Create design reports and technical documentation for reviews and handoff.
• Stay updated on BAW technology trends and contribute to next-gen RF solutions.
