Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Battery Servicer to support the distribution center by changing and maintaining batteries across material handling equipment. The role requires readiness to operate forklifts and related tools, keep battery rooms clean and stocked, and log work in CMMS while adhering to safety protocols.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work varied shifts, and perform routine maintenance in a dynamic warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to change batteries in various types of battery powered equipment.
• Capable of maintaining batteries by washing, watering, and performing repairs.
• Willing to operate forklifts, pallet jacks and diagnostic tools.
• Must wear acid resistant gloves, face shield, goggles, and apron.

Responsibilities

• Change batteries in multiple battery powered material handling devices.
• Maintain battery rooms: cleanliness and organization; refill propane as needed.
• Use CMMS to complete work orders and log labor hours.
• Respond to radio calls for battery changes and uphold safety protocols.

The Battery Servicer plays a key role in keeping the Distribution Center material handling equipment running efficiently to support production and facility operations. This role involves the ability to change batteries in various types of battery powered material handling equipment.

What You Bring to the Table

Skills/ Requirements

• Ability to change batteries in various types of battery powered material handling equipment
• Ability to maintain equipment batteries by washing, watering, and performing cable and connector repairs
• Ensure that equipment battery rooms are kept clean and organized and refill propane tanks as needed
• Ability to operate work related equipment such as hand tools, forklifts, pallet jacks and diagnostic equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently - Manual dexterity and overall coordination
• Required to wear personal protective equipment, acid resistant gloves, face shield/safety goggles, and apron.
• Answer radio calls for battery changes.
• Use CMMS to complete work orders and book labor hours.
• Must have a sense of urgency.
• Must be willing and able to work any shift and in varying temperatures
