Battery Project Engineer Baltimore area

Job Type: Full-time, On-site

Our client is a dynamic company in the battery and clean energy manufacturing industry dedicated to the aerospace & defense, EV, unmanned aerial vehicles, and unmanned underwater vehicles sector. They are looking for someone who has a great balance of knowledge in hands on product development, custom battery design, manufacturing, cell technology, and high power applications. This candidate will be building prototypes, analyzing cell performance, and project management.

Responsibilities:

• Develop Li-Ion cell and electrode design to meet the customer-specified electrical requirements for the rechargeable battery.
• Working experience with advanced battery materials such as high-energy cathode, silicon anode, and wide-temperature electrolytes.
• Develop battery products from the first concept design stage, optimize cell performance, validate/qualification testing.
• Lead development phases, including design refinement, validation, and implementation in manufacturing settings.
• Demonstrate problem-solving ability and resolve battery performance/manufacturing issues. The ability to rapidly adapt to changes and promote new ideas to improve the latest/current products.
• Actively participate in prototype fabrication and testing for design analysis and validation in the cell manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in battery development and manufacturing environment.
• PhD or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or in a related/similar field.
• Exceptional organizational, troubleshooting, interpersonal, and leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team are required.
• Proficient experience in CAD, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or other mechanical programs.
