Job summary

Kaygen, Inc. seeks a Battery Engineering Specialist in North Carolina to advance materials, cells, and process improvements. You will apply knowledge of battery chemistry and manufacturing to support trials, specification development, and production readiness.

The role requires 3+ years in a manufacturing environment, experience with winding, cell assembly, and electrolyte fill, and ability to coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, R&D, and quality teams. Some travel may be needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or similar technical field.
  • 3+ years of equivalent engineering role experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing production preparation, scheduling, and deliverables including project plans, process/equipment plans, specs, procurement, installation and trials.
  • Experience in winding, cell assembly & electrolyte fill on automotive cells (2+ years, 5+ years preferred).
  • Experience in battery cell products, processes/equipment, and/or trial activity.
  • Familiarity with Ryohin Joken identification, application, and/or confirmation.
  • Experience coordinating with production eng., manufacturing, R&D, and Quality, reporting to senior leadership.
  • Ability to interpret and apply product/process specs, drawing/data, including new material intro, validation, and change control.
  • Willingness for weekend/shutdown work, overtime up to 25%, and travel up to 15%.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field
  • 3+ years of equivalent Engineering role experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing production preparation role and schedule/deliverable management including stages of project plan, process/equipment plan, specification & procurement, installation and trial.
  • Experience in winding, cell assembly & electrolyte fill on automotive cells (2+ years, 5+ years Preferred)
  • Experience in battery cell product, processes/equipment, and/or trial activity.
  • Experience in activity of Ryohin Joken identification, application, and/or confirmation.
  • Experience coordinating with varied functions in large corporate organization, including production engineering, manufacturing, research & development, and Quality, or similar, and reporting out to senior leadership level.
  • Experience in interpreting & applying product/process specification, drawing and data, etc. including new material introduction and validation and change point management and confirmation
  • Ability for weekend and shutdown work, overtime up to 25%, and travel (domestic and international) up to 15%
