TekWissen Group is a global workforce management provider actively supporting a prominent automotive client. The role focuses on leading pre-production trial planning, issue resolution, and rapid problem solving within the Battery Manufacturing Engineering group.

The successful candidate will coordinate with production engineering, manufacturing, R&D, and quality, travel domestically and internationally, and is expected to drive Kaizen activities for safer, more efficient processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a similar technical field.
  • 3+ years in an equivalent engineering role in manufacturing.
  • Experience in battery cell assembly, winding, electrolyte fill, and related trials.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and problem-solving in pre-production trial activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve material, product, and process issues.
  • Develop and implement trial plans using TBP or Lean methods.
  • Produce detailed technical reports and organizational learning documents.
  • Support standardization and kaizen of department systems and processes.

  • Client’s Production Engineering (Client)-Battery Manufacturing Engineering (BME) Battery Cell Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer to join our Ryohin Joken (Conditions for Good Process and Product) advancement and problem-solving group.
  • Reporting to Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Client-BME Battery Cell Department's mission to deliver engineering solutions for rapid competitiveness improvements through safety first, people development, and customer focus.
  • The primary responsibility of this role is leading planning and problem-solving efforts in pre-production trial activity.
  • Utilizing and improving systems & procedures for efficient and effective issue identification, root cause analysis, issue resolution, reoccurrence prevention / kaizen to subsequent activity and projects, and project management of trials.
  • This role will also contribute to the success of developing organization’s capabilities through advancement & application of Ryohin Joken knowledge and skill.
What you’ll be doing
  • Leader of cross-functional team collaborating with equipment
  • Engage and resolve material, product, and process issues both internal and external
  • Create and implement working/trial plan for confirmation & problem-solving activity using Client Business Practice methods (TBP) or equivalent Lean practices
  • Create detail technical and summary reports for organizational learning and development
  • Input to process & equipment plan/specification for kaizen & issue reoccurrence prevention
  • Use and advancement of systems and procedure for problem solving & learning capture
  • Individual activity management, status visualization/reporting, and incremental reflection
  • Lead internal & external partner relationships aligning to team objectives, development, and support
  • Activity related to Client-BME Department-level Hoshin/ overall direction for organizational advancement
  • Individual support for standardization & kaizen (continuous improvement) of Department systems and processes
  • Mentor and Teach other members in the team on battery knowledge, trial planning and execution, data analysis and Client principles if applicable
  • Drive own individual development, seek feedback, and monitor progress
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field
  • 3+ years of equivalent Engineering role experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing production preparation role and schedule/deliverable management including stages of project plan, process/equipment plan, specification & procurement, installation and trial.
  • Experience in winding, cell assembly & electrolyte fill on automotive cells (2+ years, 5+ years Preferred)
  • Experience in battery cell product, processes/equipment, and/or trial activity.
  • Experience in activity of Ryohin Joken identification, application, and/or confirmation.
  • Experience coordinating with varied functions in large corporate organization, including production engineering, manufacturing, research & development, and Quality, or similar, and reporting out to senior leadership level.
  • Experience in interpreting & applying product/process specification, drawing and data, etc. including new material introduction and validation and change point management and confirmation
  • Ability for weekend and shutdown work, overtime up to 25%, and travel (domestic and international) up to 15%
