Job summary

Gotion Inc. in Irvine, CA, seeks an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead US battery development programs from concept through production. You will coordinate with engineering and commercial teams, manage schedules, risks, and cross-functional actions to deliver on time and within budget.

The role requires 5+ years in TPM or equivalent, strong knowledge of Li-ion systems, and experience with automotive OEM partners. Domestic and international travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years in TPM/Program Management or equivalent customer-facing leadership.
  • Solid understanding of Li-ion battery cell/pack development and validation processes.
  • Proven experience with U.S. or global automotive OEM customers.
  • Knowledge of DV/PV, APQP, and PPAP processes within automotive product development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex programs with multiple stakeholders and timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication, including executive-level interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main contact for U.S. customers on battery cell/pack development programs.
  • Lead customer engagement, technical discussions, program reviews, issue resolution, and escalation management.
  • Lead technical meetings/workshops with clear documentation and action tracking.
  • Guide cross-functional teams through RFI/RFQ processes and technical proposals with engineering and commercial teams.
  • Lead development from concept to production, coordinating with customers and internal teams.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed program schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Identify program risks and drive mitigation plans across technical, schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across regions to meet timing, deliverables, and cost.
  • Regularly report program status, risks, and decisions to engineering and executive leadership.
  • Identify innovative solutions to overcome obstacles while maintaining schedule.
  • Prioritize cross-functional action items balancing resources and risk.
  • Support on-site customer meetings, technical workshops, and plant visits in U.S. and China.
  • Support DFMEA, PFMEA, DV/PV, APQP, and PPAP activities as required by programs.
  • Travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for U.S. customers throughout battery cell and/or pack development programs.
  • Lead customer engagement, including technical discussions, program reviews, issue resolution, and escalation management.
  • Lead and facilitate technical meetings and workshops; ensure clear documentation, action tracking, and alignment with internal teams and customers.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams through RFI/RFQ processes and technical proposals in collaboration with engineering and commercial teams.
  • Lead the development of battery cell and pack programs from concept through production, coordinating closely with customers and internal cross‑functional teams.

  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and commercial across regions to meet program timing, deliverables and cost.

  • Prioritize and track cross‑functional action items, balancing resources, risks, and program outcomes.

  • Support DFMEA, PFMEA, DV/PV, APQP, and PPAP activities as required by customer programs.
  • Travel up to 30 % domestic and international.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, or related discipline).
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive, EV, or energy storage product development.
  • 5+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Program Management, or equivalent customer‑facing leadership roles.
  • Good understanding of Li‑ion battery cell and/or pack systems, including development and validation processes.
  • Proven experience working directly with U.S. or global automotive OEM customers.
  • Solid knowledge of automotive product development and launch processes, including DV/PV, APQP, and PPAP.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical programs involving multiple stakeholders, tight timelines, and evolving requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly communicate with customers and senior leadership.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
Compensation

Base pay range: $200,000 – $240,000 USD, determined within a range based on skills, qualifications, experience and location.
