Job summary

Rust-Oleum is seeking a Batchmaker to produce paint and related products by operating and tending machines, preparing dispersers, and ensuring batches meet work instructions. You will monitor high-speed equipment, adjust processes under QC guidance, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

The role requires 1–3 years in production, a high school diploma, and ability to lift 50–100 pounds. This is a full-time, in-person, second-shift position with pay $24–$26/hour plus a $0.75/hour differential and

Responsibilities

  • Operate high-speed dispersers and other production equipment.
  • Stage and charge raw materials into process flow tanks as per work instructions.
  • Monitor instruments to ensure batch meets specifications.
  • Adjust batch under QC guidance until approved.
  • Communicate with supervisors and peers in writing or in person.
  • Maintain 5S-clean workspace and assist in cycle counts.
  • Follow safety procedures and report hazards promptly.

As our Batchmaker you are to produce paint and related products by setting up, operating, or tending machines to mix or blend materials, such as chemicals, liquids, color pigments, explosive ingredients, or rust-proofing materials.

TASK PROFILE:

Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Stages and charges necessary raw materials into process flow tanks.Follows batch work instructions in order to manufacture quality products.
  • Prepares disperser and letdown tank for production, including any necessary equipment clean up.
  • Monitors and controls high-speed disperser, mixer, pumps, flow meters and other instruments in order to make sure that a batch is produced according to work instructions.
  • Adjust a batch, under QC guidance, until it is approved.
  • Get batch tickets from floor supervisor and discuss with floor supervisor the best order.Determine raw materials needed.
  • Housekeeping - Clean up work area to 5S standards, takes out trash, participate in cycle count and inventory program.
  • May assist in other departments such as filling, and material handling or help make sample batches
  • Ensure work area is safe, clean and free of recognizable hazards, communicating all spills or other hazards to the shift supervisor
  • Responsible for Dust collector cleanouts when required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Experience:

  • 1-3 years of related production experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24-$26/hour, bonus eligible

2nd Shift Differential: $0.75/hour

Shift: Monday - Thursday 4:00PM - 2:30AM

Work Location: In person
