Qualifications

Role Description

The Batch Plant Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in the Shreveport-Bossier City area. This role is responsible for operating and monitoring the concrete batch plant to ensure accurate production of mixes according to specifications and delivery schedules. Day-to-day tasks include weighing and combining materials, adjusting mix designs as required, performing routine equipment checks, and coordinating with dispatch, drivers, and yard personnel to maintain efficient plant operations. The Batch Plant Operator documents production data, follows all safety and environmental procedures, and participates in basic maintenance, cleaning, and inspections of the plant and related equipment. This role also supports quality control efforts by observing material performance, reporting issues, and collaborating with team members to resolve operational concerns promptly.

Qualifications

• Operational and technical skills: Experience operating batch plants or similar industrial equipment, basic mechanical aptitude, and ability to read and follow production specifications.
• Safety and compliance skills: Strong commitment to safety protocols, familiarity with OSHA or similar regulations, and adherence to environmental and quality standards.
• Coordination and communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with drivers, dispatch, and supervisors, and to coordinate production schedules and deliveries.
• Problem-solving and attention to detail: Skill in identifying equipment or mix issues, making accurate adjustments, and maintaining precise records of materials and batches.
• Physical and work environment readiness: Ability to work in an outdoor industrial setting, stand for extended periods, and safely lift moderate weights as required.
• Beneficial qualifications: Prior experience in concrete, construction, or manufacturing; familiarity with computerized batching systems; reliable transportation; and willingness to work flexible hours or occasional overtime.
• Education and background: High school diploma or equivalent; clean driving record preferred; ability to pass any required background checks and pre-employment screenings.
