Job summary

Default Brand is seeking a Batch Maker to operate automated equipment and mix scheduled batches on the designated machine. You will ensure safe operation and maintain PPE and a clean workspace.

Responsibilities include receiving materials, blending according to Product Development instructions in PcVue, and delivering semi-finished goods to Quality Control for assessment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience.
• Ability to read, write, and present information clearly.
• Strong math skills for measuring and calculations.
• Ability to apply common sense to follow given instructions.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Responsible for mixing scheduled batches on the designated machine.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Batch Makers are responsible for using automated equipment to receive material, combine raw materials per instruction from Product Development in PcVue, and to deliver semi-finished goods to Quality Control for assessment. Is responsible for proper use of personal protective equipment. Is responsible for keeping equipment within safe operating limits. Responsible for keeping his area and equipment clean at end of shift.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job does not have supervisory responsibilities. There are no subordinate supervisors reporting to this job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
