Job summary

University of Georgia is seeking a Research Associate to conduct and supervise bat ecology research at Savannah River Site. The role involves field operations planning, data collection, and collaboration with students and postdocs in the Rhodes Laboratory.

You will manage permits, safety protocols, and inventory, while contributing to data analysis and manuscript preparation for ongoing projects. A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
• Masters degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of field technicians in trapping, handling, sampling, and tracking bat species.
• Actively participate in the analysis of data and preparation of manuscripts associated with bat-related research in the Rhodes lab.
• Oversee and maintain all required permits, reports, inventories, and required safety protocols for field and lab research in the Rhodes lab.
• Prepare samples in the laboratory for subsequent DNA and disease analyses and ensure quality control procedures.
