Job summary

Inclusively is seeking a Basketball Analyst to join the Basketball Operations department. You will own research initiatives end to end, build and deploy models for player evaluation, roster decisions, and in-season reporting.

You will work with coaching, analytics, health & performance, and strategy teams to translate questions into actionable results. Applicants should have a quantitative degree and 2+ years in statistical modeling or ML on large datasets, with R/Python and SQL proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years applying statistical modeling and ML to large datasets.
• Proficiency in R or Python, and SQL.
• Experience building, validating, and maintaining predictive models.
• Strong ability to communicate technical results to non-technical audiences.
• Experience with Git or similar version control.
• Knowledge of NBA rules and standards.
• Willing to provide after-hours and weekend support.

Responsibilities

• Own basketball research initiatives end to end and translate questions into research designs and models.
• Build, validate, deploy, and monitor models evaluating players, teams, lineups, tactics, and roster decisions.
• Work with large datasets including optical tracking, play-by-play, event data, and scouting inputs.
• Deliver recurring in-season reporting for coaching and front office use.
• Create dashboards and tools to put analysis in the hands of staff.
