Job summary

Sahuarita Unified School District is seeking a COACH at Sahuarita Middle School to organize and promote a comprehensive athletic program for the school community. You will provide ethical, professional leadership and model academics in a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities include teaching fundamentals, safety, and discipline, coordinating forms, public relations, and maintaining equipment and facilities.

Qualifications

• Valid Arizona substitute or teaching certificate; AIA Coaching Certificate (For Head Coach positions only)
• Valid Clearance, Fingerprint Card
• Preferred three years paid coaching experience in related sport
• Valid CPR Certificate

Responsibilities

• Organize and coordinate a comprehensive athletic program.
• Provide leadership to promote a positive learning environment and academics.
• Demonstrate ethics, professionalism and be a positive role model.
• Communicate team and school policies to participants.
• Submit required forms (eligibility rosters, players’ addresses).
• Public relations and publicity for the athletic program.
• Communicate with parents/guardians.
• Teach fundamentals, strategies, rules and conditioning in the assigned sport.
• Ensure safety and adequate supervision for all students.
• Inspect facilities and equipment for safety.
• Instruct on safety procedures and injury reporting.
• Handle injury situations and ensure first aid readiness.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
