AN ASSISTANT COACH DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES ARE (but not limited to):

• Help bring fruition to the vision and competitive culture of the program
• Build positive relationships with athletes, staff and community
• Assist in oversight of daily operations and organization
• Contribute to design of team mission, philosophy and team strategy
• Prioritize academic success along with athletic success
• Develop athlete development program and accountability for team success
• Communicate expectations clearly and consistently
• Develop recruiting and sustainability of rosters
• Evaluate team and individual performance
• Develop practice structure and game preparation
• Assist with in-game decisions and adjustments
• Represent the program with professionalism and sportsmanship
• Assist athletes and family in planning for postsecondary goals
• Continue growth and development in the craft of coaching via professional development

Qualifications

Qualified coaching candidates will possess a valid Illinois teaching license, a substitute teaching license, or appropriate coaching certification valid for work in a public school (i.e. ASEP).
