Pacers Sports & Entertainment is seeking a Basketball Analytics Intern for Spring 2027, on-site in Indianapolis, IN. Expect ~40 hours per week, January to May, supporting the Indiana Pacers analytics team to improve data science projects and analytics infrastructure.

Ideal candidates are passionate about basketball and data, with experience in Python/SQL, data visualization, and a willingness to learn within a front office environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
• Experience with Python and SQL.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, and Power BI.
• Strong organization and attention to detail for data and visuals.
• Excellent communication and eagerness to learn basketball analytics.
• Highly motivated and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal software tools for front office and coaching staff.
• Gather, clean, store, manage, and integrate data from multiple sources.
• Assist in creating standardized reports and ad-hoc analyses.
• Maintain and extend analytics infrastructure.
• Collaborate on projects and work autonomously when needed.
• Assist with game-night responsibilities as needed.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
