Job summary

Akima Readiness Support (ARS) in Andrews, MD seeks a Driver to support project and supply teams with materiel handling, pickups and deliveries on base. You will ensure proper storage, asset integrity and timely on-base delivery under supervision.

The role requires a Class A CDL, a clean driving record, ability to lift 40 lbs, and knowledge of AFI AFM procedures. Military experience is desirable and benefits under the CBA apply.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Class A CDL with acceptable driving record (past 3 years).
• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
• Knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, and instructions desirable.
• Customer service oriented with good communication and math skills.
• Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Military experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties under the Supply Manager’s direction for materiel handling, pickup and delivery.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and annotate discrepancies on AF Form 1800/1810.
• Deliver items to authorized customers and on-base maintenance activities.
• Coordinate use of Material Handling Equipment for heavy items as needed.
• Maintain and clean assigned trucks; ensure maintenance actions are documented.
• Report discrepancies to the Supply Manager and ensure safe operations.
