Job summary

Horizon Air is hiring a Base Chief Pilot to balance strategic priorities with tactical execution for Flight Operations at the base. You will lead the pilot team, set standards, and ensure safety and compliance with FARs and company policies.

As a people leader, you will shape long-term operations strategy, drive talent development, and partner with Horizon and Alaska Airlines leadership to uphold safety and performance standards. The role requires a flexible schedule and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 5 years of professional pilot experience (FAA Part 121 or 135).
• 4 years of leadership experience (Pil​ot in Command, Captain, Check Pilot, Instructor).
• Bachelor’s degree or two years of experience in lieu of this degree.
• Ability to become a line qualified pilot at Horizon.

Responsibilities

• Lead and establish priorities for a team of pilots by setting professional standards and coaching when appropriate.
• Shape the long-term strategy and planning for operations at assigned base.
• Develop people through performance management and feedback for talent growth.
• Shape culture through action, presence, and professional behavior.
• Influence the team to maintain trust between pilots and Horizon management.
