Job summary

Cerris Systems is seeking asales professional to drive business development with mechanical and general contractors. You will own the full sales process from lead generation to proposal and closure, delivering technical guidance and cost-effective proposals for new builds.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in sales or construction-related fields, strong communication, and an ability to manage multiple projects while meeting annual goals. On-site work and travel to job sites are involved.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Three years of sales, construction, or technology experience.
  • Military or on-the-job training may qualify per management discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand relationships with contractors to win work.
  • Provide technical/layout guidance for new builds as trusted advisor.
  • Generate new business and qualify sales opportunities.
  • Estimate costs and write proposals based on MEP plans and specs.
  • Collaborate with vendors on cost-effective proposals.
  • Maintain sales plans to hit annual goals.
  • Coordinate hand-offs to operations after project award.

Nature of Work

This person will be responsible for driving business development efforts and grow our end-user client base. In addition, this role will have ownership of the full sales process, including lead generation, estimating, proposal response, and closing activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and expand relationships with Mechanical Contractors and General Contractors with the goal is to become a valued extension of their team and win work together.
  • Provide technical advice and layout projects to become the basis of design for new builds, become the trusted advisor
  • Provide technical and business recommendations for consultants and design build contractors.
  • Generate new business, prospect, and qualify new sales opportunities.
  • Maintain and work to a sales plan to hit annual goals.
  • Estimate project costs and write proposals based upon MEP plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to provide cost-effective proposals and a foundation for successful execution of a project.
  • Keep up to date with current technologies offered in the marketplace and how they can positively benefit our clients.
  • Actively participate in trade associations and organizations to network and expand presence in the marketplace.
  • Create and deliver sales presentations for project interviews, new technology releases, etc.
  • Maintain involvement in projects after the sale is closed, including kick-offs with operations and follow-up with the client.
  • Collaborate with Service Account Executives to properly turn-over new construction projects, expand footprint in their facility, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Create and implement account management plans.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record which, per Company's vehicle policy, allows operation of a vehicle for business purposes.
  • Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Construction Management, or other related studies is preferred, or equivalent work-related experience

Experience

Three years related experience in sales, construction, or technology

Other work-related experience such as military, on the job training programs, etc. may meet this requirement as determined by local management

Physical Demands and Working Environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Normal office environment with periods of time spent on construction sites and occupied customer facilities
  • Requires travel to job sites with periods of overnight travel
  • Frequent activity: sitting, viewing computer screen
  • Occasional activity: standing, walking, bending, reaching above shoulder, climbing ladders
  • Safety-sensitive position that requires extreme focus and attention to safety hazards and safety protocols
