  • Mix drinks, cocktails, and other bar beverages per standard recipes.
  • Check IDs to ensure age requirements for alcohol.
  • Maintain bar area; keep it clean and organized; wash glassware.
  • Handle cash and balance receipts; interact with guests to ensure a great experience.

General Definition:The Bartender duties include mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food items to patrons in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.Essential Job Functions:The Bartender will be responsible for preparing and serving drinks to customers accurately and efficiently, while maintaining positive and friendly guest interactionsThe purpose of this position it to interact with the suite guests and ensure they have a great experience in there suite.The Bartender is able to mix and match ingredients to create classic and innovative drinks in accordance with customers' needs and expectationsResponsibilities Interact with customers in a friendly and helpful manner; take and serve orders for drinks and snacksMix drinks, cocktails, and other bar beverages, including non-alcoholic beverages, as ordered and in compliance with hotel standard drink recipesCheck identification of the guest to make sure they meet age requirements for purchase of alcohol productsDetermine when a customer has had too much alcohol and, if required, refusing any further serving in a polite wayProvide guidance to guests on horse racing.Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displaysKeep the bar counter and work area neat and clean at all times; wash glassware and utensils after each use; keep working area clean by sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of glass doors, and windows, etc.Plan and present bar menu; demonstrate a thorough knowledge of good and beverage products, menus, and promotionsHandle and move objects, such as glass and bottles, using hands and arms; perform other physical activities such as lifting and stoopingMaintain liquor inventory and consumption; prepare inventory as needed to replenish supplies; ensure the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guestsHandle an assigned house bank and follow all cash handling procedures as per hotel standard; collect payment for drinks service and balance all receiptsStay focused and nurture an excellent guest experienceComply with all food and beverage regulationsPerform other duties as and when assigned.Education:High school diploma or GED; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or combination.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes.Excellent customer service and communications skills required. Ability to apply common understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardize situations.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Capacity write simple correspondence and possess basic mathematical skills.Outgoing personality and positive attitude.Strong knowledge of bar operations, service procedures and function.Basic math skills.Ability to handle money and operate a cash register quickly and efficiently.Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).Possess honesty and integrity.Have good memory when handling multiple orders.Ability to listen well, communicate effectively and follow instructions.Excellent communication skills required. Bilingual skills helpful, but not required.Ability to interact positively with customers, employees and management personnel.Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.Ability to prioritize, multi-task and be flexible.Ability to work as part of a team and with constant interruptions.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Training:Five years of bartending experience requiredLicenses/Certifications/Other:Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency if applicable to perform the essential job functionsTexas Alcoholic Beverage Commission License (TABC)Serve-safe certified (Food Handlers)Physical Requirements:The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
