Job summary

The Sports & Social Club in St. Louis is seeking friendly bartenders/servers to provide excellent guest experiences in a lively sports bar setting, handling orders, preparing drinks, serving food, and collaborating with kitchen and front-of-house teams.

This role is based at a high-energy venue that values teamwork and guest satisfaction. We expect you to bring energy, reliability, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Good communication with guests, cooks, staff, and supervisors.
• Alcohol awareness or food service permit as required by state.
• Reading and writing abilities used for orders and paperwork.
• Basic math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Handle items up to 50 pounds.
• Move about bar, lounge, and kitchen safely.
• Handle food and utensils safely.
• Provide energetic, outgoing personality while remaining professional.
• Deliver courteous customer service.
• Mix cocktails and drinks; serve wine and beer.
• Take beverage orders from staff or guests.
• Record orders and receipts accurately.
• Check IDs to ensure legal drinking age.
• Promote current promotions to guests.

The Sports & Social Club is a relaxed sports bar offering classic pub food and tremendous sports viewing, in a comfortable tavern setting. Serving lunch, dinner and a dynamic nightlife, The Sports & Social Club also offers bowling, live entertainment, and a fully equipped private party room. The restaurant and bar is equipped with state of the art technology including the ultimate sports viewing room equipped with two 100 inch high definition projectors and digital surround sound, making the S&SC the perfect venue to watch sports and party with friends. • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.
• Mathematical skills, including basic math are used frequently.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Job requires the ability to perform the following:

• Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. (bar ware, boxes, bottles, ect.)
• Moving about the bar, lounge, and kitchen efficiently and safely.
• Handling food, objects, products and utensils effectively and safely.
• Bending, standing, stooping, kneeling.Includes, but not limited to:
• Provide an energetic, outgoing, funpersonality while maintaining professionalism.
• Perform varied duties to ensure all aspects of the proper steps of service.
• Offer polite, professional, and courteous customer service.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and guests.
• Mix ingredients and prepare cocktails and other drinks according to drink recipe.
• Serve wine, and bottled or draft beer.
• Take beverage orders from serving staff or from guests.
• Communicate effectively, clearly, patiently andhumorouslywith co-workers andguests.
• Complete all side work as assigned.
• Be well-versed in the products in order to guide the guest experience and sell food and beverage items.
• Check guests’ identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption.
• Present and encourage current promotions to guests.
• Accurately record and account for all items ordered andsecure payment from guest.
• Accurately account for all sales and receipts and record tipsas outlined in company policies and procedures.
