Position Summary
Under general direction from the Restaurant Services Supervisor, the employee prepares and serves cocktails and other beverages and merchandise to customers or prepares for wait staff, in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. The employee accurately executes guest transactions, enters orders, tabulates bills, and receives guest payments, ensuring customers meet age requirements for the purchase of alcohol products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Promotes positive customer relations, greets customers, and creates a friendly atmosphere.
- Promotes and documents orders for drinks, reciting selections of all call and premium brands as requested from memory; takes orders from customers in a prompt and friendly manner.
- Inspects menus and special cards daily to ensure they are presented to the guest.
- Prepares all food and/or beverage items using prep sheets and standard ingredient recipes.
- Prepares and serves cocktails and other beverages accurately and without waste according to customer specifications and ABC requirements.
- Inputs orders at the point of sale; creates checks for each customer/party/server; maintains accountability of all beverages served.
- Prepares and displays all food and merchandise in accordance with ServeSafe and other regulatory standards.
- Presents an accurate check to the guest in a timely fashion; thanks patrons and invites them to return.
- Clears the bar area after customers and maintains an orderly and clean work area at all times.
- Maintains a proper and adequate bar setup; washes glassware and utensils after each use.
- Serves food to customers seated at the bar as requested.
- Checks identification and legitimacy of customers to confirm they meet age requirements for alcohol purchases.
- Provides safe and responsible alcohol services by determining when a customer has consumed too much alcohol.
- Ensures all display cases and refrigerators are clean and stocked throughout the shift.
- Maintains an organized work area for convenient guest interaction and safety.
- Maintains inventory, supplies, and prepares food based on business volumes as directed by Supervisors using par levels.
- Responds to customer questions and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Safeguards casino monies by balancing the house bank at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Arranges bottles and glasses to create attractive displays.
- Maintains knowledge of and answers guest questions regarding all food venues, beverage service, and casino‑related information.
- Attends and participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Follows guidelines regarding alcohol service, safety, and customer service according to established regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required unless waived by Human Resources Management. A minimum of two (2) years working in the food and beverage and/or hospitality industry is required. One (1) year of bartending work is required, unless waived by hiring manager. Must obtain an ABC certificate of safe alcohol server training as required. Excellent interpersonal communication, guest service, attention to detail, and problem‑solving skills are required. The candidate must successfully pass a pre‑employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and food service principles.
- Knowledge of bartending and bar maintenance operations and customer service.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods, walk and sit; use hands for dexterity of motion; stoop, bend, kneel or crouch, and have normal auditory, visual acuity, and verbal communication skills. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Work is generally performed both indoors and outdoors where the employee may have frequent contact with the public and be exposed to second hand smoke, moderate to high noise levels, dirt, dust, and unpleasant odors. Work may be performed in areas that are unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky, and dimly lit, and the employee may need to maneuver outdoors in temperatures exceeding 115° or as cold as 15° (exposed to all weather conditions). Prolonged sitting, walking, or extended work hours—including swing shifts, evenings, holidays, and weekends—may be required.
