Job summary

Obsolete Site is seeking a bartender for post-wide community events and large military events at various MWR facilities. You will prepare a limited range of beverages, set up bars, manage cash banks, and maintain stock levels to ensure smooth operations.

You will also record sales, handle transactions, keep areas clean, and identify anyone who is intoxicated or disruptive, escalating per procedures. This role requires compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

Job description

  • Serves as a bartender for post wide community events and large military events at various MWR facilities.
  • Prepares a limited variety of simple alcoholic beverages as requested by patrons and wait staff.
  • Sets up bars for operation, obtains cash bank and stocks service bar. Assures an adequate stock level is maintained, sets up storeroom and work area to permit easy access to stock items.
  • Records sales and makes change or prepares charge slips. Keeps bar and work area clean and sanitary.
  • Identifies persons who become unruly or who appear intoxicated, resolves the problem or seeks assistance in accordance with established procedures.

Requirements
Conditions of employment
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a medical examination.
  • Incumbent is required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Must be able to work all three shifts within a 24 hour schedule based on business needs to include holidays, nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40lbs.

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following
  • Meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic at the time of appointment.
  • Be able to lift and carry weights up to 20 pounds.
  • Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
  • Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
