Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bartending experience in a restaurant, lounge, hotel, or upscale bar environment.
• Ability to obtain a Kansas City, Missouri Food Handler Permit within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain a Kansas City, Missouri Liquor License within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Bartender to join the team at Momentum Rooftop Cocktail Bar. This position plays a key role in delivering an elevated beverage experience while creating genuine connections with members and hotel guests in one of Kansas City's premier rooftop destinations.

Position Summary

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving handcrafted cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages while providing exceptional hospitality in a refined, fast-paced rooftop environment. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about mixology, with a commitment to delivering memorable guest experiences through attentive service and beverage excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes, quality standards, and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
• Deliver warm, personalized service while creating memorable experiences for members and guests.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and menu offerings.
• Make thoughtful recommendations and upsell food and beverage offerings to enhance the guest experience.
• Accurately enter orders and process guest payments using the point-of-sale system.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout each shift.
• Prepare garnishes, juices, syrups, and other bar ingredients according to established standards.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure compliance with all responsible beverage service policies.
• Assist with opening, closing, inventory, side work, and cash handling procedures.
• Collaborate with servers, culinary, and leadership teams to ensure seamless service.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with health department regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, lounge, hotel, or upscale bar environment.
• Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer.
• Excellent communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to obtain a Kansas City, Missouri Food Handler Permit within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain a Kansas City, Missouri Liquor License within 30 days of hire.

Preferred:

• Previous hotel or luxury hospitality experience.
• Experience with MICROS or similar point-of-sale systems.
• TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol, or equivalent responsible alcohol service certification.
• Experience in craft cocktail or rooftop lounge environments.
• Schedule Requirements
• Weekend evening availability is required.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
• The hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
