POSITION SUMMARY

The Bartender is responsible to provide a level of service which is gracious, kind and warm that creates a sense of fondness that is Hometown Hospitality and delivers Fun for the casino guests. The Bartender will maintain a high standard of cleanliness according to the food service sanitation codes. He/She will sever alcoholic and non–alcoholic beverages, have extensive menu knowledge, take guest orders, anticipate the guests’ needs, deliver the orders and tender payment. Focus on departmental goals of - Consistency, Quality and Sense of Urgency.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Be punctual to pre-shift meeting with a positive attitude and openly participate.
  2. Consistently provide Hometown Hospitality and deliver Fun as well as live the core values of Fun, Friendly and Community.
  3. Comply with department standards, guidelines and objectives to include adherence to all Food Service and Sanitation, OSHA, and Hazcom standards and guidelines.
  4. Wash hands frequently.
  5. Provide consistent high quality food and beverage service to all guests dining in the restaurants by adhering to sequence of service standards completely and correctly. Utilize "upselling" techniques.
  6. Adhere to all standardized recipes.
  7. Safeguard company assets and adheres to all policies and procedures.
  8. Maintain and be accountable for all funds entrusted to him/her on an assigned shift.
  9. Create teamwork by helping co-workers with essential function.
  10. Balance all money transactions and paperwork.
  11. Adhere to all company policies and procedures to include strict adherence to attendance and appearance guidelines, as well as confidentially regarding guest information.
  12. Be alert for fraud, forged/counterfeit currency and/or vouchers.
  13. Balance all funds under his/her responsibility and prepare reconciliation reports accordingly.
  14. Practice all alcohol awareness policies and procedures.
  15. Maintain a clear and organized work area, cleaning as you go and cleaning spills immediately.
  16. Use chemicals as prescribed and responsibly. Ensuring that all chemicals are in properly labeled containers.
  17. Assist the supervisor in putting supplies away adhering to the 5S Principles of ensuring that items are Sorted, Set in order, Systematically cleaned, Standardize and Sustained and dating all items with the current date.
  18. Conduct him/her in a gracious, kind and warm manner that creates a sense of fondness, as well as professional, courteous and responsive manner, which reflects positively on the company and its core values of Fun, Family and Community.
  19. Perform other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Must have ability to:

  • Accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs.
  • Interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Be flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior bartending experience preferred. Ability to read, analyze, interpret and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, business periodicals, instructions, and correspondence/memos; write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Attention to detail and accuracy. Maintain confidential information.

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
  • Obtain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gambling.
  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with the state regulations and Systems of Internal Controls.
  • Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any staff member that they have knowledge of.
