Job summary

MGM Grand in Las Vegas seeks an energetic Bartender to deliver exceptional service and craft drinks in a world-class bar environment.

You will showcase knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and non-alcoholic options while engaging guests and maintaining a polished bar area. This role requires 21+ status, a POUR card, and willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Must have union POUR card.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Two years of bar or similar environment experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standardized recipes.
• Clean equipment, tools, and supplies and ensure bar is in good working order and clean.
• Be knowledgeable of menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections.
• Ring poured or served beverages, collect payment, and follow cash handling procedures.
• Provide Apprentice Bartender and Bar Porter with training and mentoring on bar operation and guest service.
• Maintain bar inventory according to pars and internal controls; request stock as needed.
• Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority or involve management as needed.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested.

THE JOB:

As a Bartender at MGM Grand, you will bring energy, personality, and exceptional service to every guest interaction. You will showcase your knowledge of menu offerings, spirits, beer, and non‐alcoholic selections while maintaining a polished and inviting bar environment. By connecting with guests, anticipating their needs, and delivering memorable service, you will help create the exciting, world-class experiences MGM Grand is known for.

THE STARTING RATE: $18.04

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Make and serve alcoholic and non‐alcoholic drinks, proportioning ingredients according to standardized recipes and provide food service as needed
• Clean equipment, tools, and supplies and ensure equipment is in good working order; including, cleanliness, sanitation and appearance of the bar
• Knowledgeable of menu items, liquor brands, beers and non‐alcoholic selections available
• Ring poured or served beverages, collect payment, and follow all cash handling and variance procedures, including preparing daily reports and submitting appropriate paperwork
• Provide Apprentice Bartender and Bar Porter with training and mentoring on overall function of the bar, guest service and bartending
• Maintain bar inventory according to set pars and internal controls, and request product to maintain stock in bar
• Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refer the matter to management, notify supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft
• Perform other job‐related duties as requested

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Is 21+ years of age
• Must have union POUR card
• Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Two (2) years of experience in a bar or similar environment preferred
• Experience working in a similar resort setting preferred
