Bartender - Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant
The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service and a welcoming bar experience for all guests. This role prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, supports food service at the bar, and maintains a clean and organized bar environment throughout each shift.
Bartenders are expected to uphold Iron Hill’s service standards while adhering to all state alcohol laws and company policies, creating a positive and hospitable atmosphere for guests and team members alike.

Bar Service & Guest Experience
- Prepare and serve beverages by mixing, pouring, shaking, and/or stirring ingredients
- Take drink and food orders from bar guests and provide attentive, friendly service
- Prep light fare plates and desserts and expedite food orders as needed
- Maintain awareness of guest needs and ensure a positive bar experience throughout the visit
Bar Maintenance & Sanitation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and any assigned sections
- Ensure floors behind and around the bar are clean throughout the shift
- Restock and replenish tablewares, glassware, garnishes, and food and drink prep areas continuously throughout service
- Replace floor mats and perform basic housekeeping duties as part of opening and closing procedures
Opening & Closing Duties
- Complete opening procedures including restocking the bar, cutting fruit, and setting up bar stools
- Complete closing procedures including breaking down the bar, storing product, and taking down bar stools
- Efficiently prepare and shut down shift sidework within designated time standards
Team Support
- Function as a Server when needed to support front‑of‑house operations
- Function as Expo occasionally as needed
- Support other front‑of‑house team members during busy service periods
Physical Requirements
The physical demands listed below are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (6+ hours per shift)
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 25–40 pounds, including wash tubs, stacks of glassware, full bus bins, floor mats, and bags of trash
- Ability to carry bottles of spirits, full bar glasses, and cans of juice throughout service
- Frequent reaching, simple and firm grasping, and fine manipulation while preparing beverages
- Occasional forward bending, kneeling, and squatting
- Ability to push and pull carts of ice, glassware, silverware, and floor mats
- Ability to climb stairs and step stools as needed
Qualifications
- Excellent judgment while serving in adherence to state laws and Iron Hill alcohol policies
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable alcohol and food handling certifications
- Understanding of scheduling, POS, and reservation systems
- Accurate payment processing and basic math skills
- Ability to lift 25 lbs over the waist
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean and efficient work area
- Understanding of sanitation and safety procedures
- Ability to work within Iron Hill time standards of service
